Supplier Quality Engineer

Reyco Granning, LLC has an opening at its Mt. Vernon production facility for a Supplier Quality Engineer, reporting to the V.P. of Supply Chain.  This position will investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities include working with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented; maintaining debit memo process for supplier issues that generate purchase or rework expenses; conducting supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement; monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (Past due), PPM and other waste; establish specific short/long term supplier quality goals; champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances; work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply; develop long-term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas; aide manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following the new product development process using supplier PPAP and/or ISIR; lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting Reyco Granning requirements; drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base.  Additional responsibilities include communicating engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teams; actively manage suppliers to ensure there are no regressions with the implementation of new processes; travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems; assurance compliance to all applicable legal requirements.  Must possess knowledge of various quality systems methodologies to include: 8D, 5 Whys’, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PMEA, PPAP, PPS etc.

This position requires a four-year degree or equivalent experience with strong statistical background along with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with ISO 9000 / PPAP requirements; have prior experience with supplier quality, in process improvement, error proofing, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and process flow diagrams in a lean environment.  Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is preferred.  Physical demands include the ability to stand / walk in excess of 8 hours per day; the ability to work in plant temperatures of 65 – 105 degrees and the ability to lift 45 lbs. infrequently.  The candidate must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and the ability to travel abroad.

Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Reyco Granning, LLC is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern for its Mt. Vernon production facility.  This position will be responsible for supporting Manufacturing/Quality Engineers and management to improve overall Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost performance of Reyco Granning manufacturing and quality processes. This position will utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and problem Solving tools and approaches to continuously improve overall operations.  Utilizes Kaizen & DMAIC methodologies to identify and eliminate waste and variation from all fabrication, welding, paint and assembly processes.   Analyzes steps of manufacturing to remove waste and variation to achieve improved safety, quality, delivery and cost performance.

This position requires knowledge of SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD, time study standards application, Lean Manufacturing Principle applications, DMAIC Methodology familiarity, and Excel spreadsheet applications.  The applicant must be currently enrolled in an engineering degree program or have equivalent manufacturing or computer programming experience.  Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time in sometimes extreme temperatures and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Resident Engineer

Reyco Granning, LLC is currently seeking a Resident Engineer to be based in Charlotte MI, or close to this location. This position will report to the Chief Engineer.

This position will serve as the engineering & technical liaison between the customer and Reyco Granning and will be based at the customer’s headquarters for at least three days per week.  Must understand the customer’s requirements, ensuring that all RG product meets requirements; foster a strong customer relationship and serve as the customer advocate; provide advice and recommendations based on knowledge of Reyco Granning products; collaborate with all functional areas to drive execution. Hands-on work involved with testing and installation audits.

This position requires two plus (2+) years of experience in a customer facing, engineering role. Must possess strong personal interaction and presentation skills; proven engineering drawing and specification creation ability; excellent organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work well alone and with others; strong leadership skills. Must have experience in DFMEA and root cause analysis; exposure and experience in working with PPAP. Must be self-motivated, driven with the ability to analyze data; result oriented with solid technical background.  Must have problem solving skills with attention to detail; adaptability, with demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at one time.  Must possess good computer skills: MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, 3D CAD (SolidWorks). This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering and four plus (4+) years of applicable experience.  Must have at least two years of experience in suspension design. Travel (potential of 20%)

Tool & Die Maker I

Reyco Granning, LLC has an opening for a 1st shift Tool & Die Maker I.  This position reports to the Mfg. Engineering function.

This position will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining and improving tooling and fixturing for production using machining operations, welding, and measuring instruments.  Duties include providing machining services for prototypes, R&D, maintenance, etc. Will participate in and provide tool room support for improvement activities.

This position requires a High School diploma or above preferred. Forklift license required. Requires experience in a toolroom/ machine shop environment; 0 – 2 years of experience in tool and die making.  Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in tool and die making.  Performs a variety of tasks; works under general supervision.  The successful candidate must be capable of blueprint reading, Design CAD, CAM; run 3 and 4 axis milling, turning and grinding machines; tooling/fixtures/dies project; welding, tool grinding; Must possess good math skills.

Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Quality Manager

Reyco Granning, LLC is currently seeking a Quality Manager for its Mt. Vernon manufacturing unit. This position will report to the Vice President of Manufacturing.

This position will plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.  Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.  Devise sampling procedures and design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.  Establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment.  Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devise methods to assess cost and solve root cause.  Supervise and direct workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.  Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality assurance activities. Provide leadership in transforming the quality management system across Reyco Granning.

This position requires a four (4) year degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience, prior experience with supplier quality, in process improvement, error proofing, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams and lean manufacturing. Strong statistical background, customer orientation and ISO 9000 PPAP experience are required, with Six Sigma Black belt training, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISO and/or other quality management systems background being preferred.

Manufacturing Supervisor

Reyco Granning, LLC has an opening for a 1st shift Manufacturing Supervisor.  This position reports to the Plant Production Superintendent and provides overall supervision of direct and indirect employees within the assigned production area. The supervisor manages the department to accomplish effective setup, run and completion of quality products, the completion of required documentation, preventive maintenance of equipment and housekeeping in their area.  This position makes decisions based on the priority of safety first, quality second, delivery third and continuous improvement fourth.

This position requires the drive to provide a safe working environment for employees, a strong bias for quality, a commitment to customer satisfaction, strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and excellent problem solving skills.  The successful applicant will have a good understanding of P&L financials and adaptability to change associated with LEAN efforts.  A minimum of five years manufacturing experience and a high school diploma is required.  A college degree is preferred.

Project Engineer

Reyco Granning is currently seeking to fill an opening for a Project Engineer to be based in Lafayette.  This position is responsible for designing, testing and documenting suspensions for the heavy duty powered vehicle and trailer markets.

This position requires a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree, two to five years’ experience in product design (preferably vehicular suspensions), with experience in 3D modeling and Finite Element Analysis.

Must possess excellent problem-solving skills, good written and verbal communication skills, attention to details, good computer skills (Fourth Shift, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word, SolidWorks or equivalent systems), be versed in DFMEA, DVP and 8D tools.  Must also be able to work on multiple projects at one time.

Validation Engineer

Reyco Granning is currently seeking to fill an opening for a Validation Engineer based in Mt. Vernon, MO.  This position reports to the V.P. of Engineering and will be responsible to validate suspension designing by establishing test methods, develop test fixtures and execute testing.  This includes data acquisition, benchmarking and data analysis in support of new product designs and dynamic modeling validation, with test conclusions, documented results in test logs and technical reports.

Responsibilities include: data acquisition, benchmarking and data analysis in support of new product designs and dynamic modeling validation, with test conclusions, documented results in test logs and technical reports; validation of bench test results such as cycles/miles to failure, frequency response, strain/stress response, etc.  This position will provide leadership for data acquisition in the laboratory, proving grounds, and field, with the support of laboratory technicians; develop/specify new test techniques and technologies and document these as released engineering procedures; will also design, develop and acquire new test fixtures and equipment; validates test boundary conditions through the use of appropriate test-analysis modeling; develop load transducers, ride and handling equipment, etc.; lead training of technicians for standard application of engineering procedures and assure compliance to such standards, reducing data, developing test conclusions and reporting results in test logs. Support ride and handling tuning, development and troubleshooting working with new product engineering teams., including material acquisition, vehicle and equipment planning, coordination with vendors, etc.

This position requires:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Three (3) – five (5) years of experience working in a test-bench and vehicle level test environment, performing testing, data capture and analysis (preferably heavy or medium duty truck) with experience in fatigue analysis, and vehicle handling analysis.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, and project management experience required.
  • Hands-on work involved with testing and installations
  • Travel (potential of 20%)
