Sr. Project Engineer (Mt. Vernon, MO or Lafayette, IN)

Reyco Granning is currently seeking to fill an opening for a Sr. Project Engineer to be based in either Mt. Vernon, MO or Lafayette, IN.  This position will report to the Engineering Manager.  This position is responsible for designing, testing, and documenting drivetrain and suspension units for the heavy-duty powered vehicle and trailer markets.  Responsibilities include designing of drivetrain and suspension systems and components; use of SolidWorks and other software to design suspension systems; working with a team to develop innovative solutions to meet customer requirements; designing, testing, and supervising projects to completion; ensuring projects meet customer requirements and are completed on time; providing installation and maintenance manual input and review; developing and supervising tests; working with suppliers, manufacturing, and customers to assure designs meet reliability, manufacturability, performance, and cost constraints.  May also supervise field installations of prototype/ beta/ first article suspension units, oversee testing at customer sites and provide customer support as needed.  Responsible for assisting with new product installations and other duties as assigned by the manager.  Must adhere to Reyco Granning policies and work rules.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, good computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, PDF Editor, SolidWorks, PDM, and MRP Systems; be familiar with DFMEA, DVP, and APQP Processes.  Must have knowledge/ familiarity of vehicle systems and overall functionality; the ability to work on multiple projects at one time; ability to work efficiently in a team setting; design for manufacturability.  Must possess attention to detail, and quality of work; excellent problem-solving skills, along with strong leadership skills.  Experience requirements include five-plus years of experience in design of vehicle suspension systems; experience in Finite Element Analysis, topology optimization, casting design, and sheet metal design.  3D modeling experience with SolidWorks experience preferred

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.  Automotive/ Suspension emphasis or equivalent preferred.  Must possess the ability to use common mechanic/ shop tools; needs to be hands-on and assist in test set-up and prototype/beta/ first article builds and installations.  Some travel required (10%).  Interested candidates are asked to visit our Careers page @ www.reycogranning.com and follow the instructions associated with the Sr. Project Engineer position.  This position will remain posted until filled.

This position is responsible for picking, packing, palletizing, labeling, shipping of customer orders, loading/unloading trucks, support for paint process (loading/unloading, part labeling and inventory transactions, part inspection), assembly of small parts and operating bushing presses.  Must be mechanically inclined and able to use hand tools. Must be able to use basic inspection equipment such as calipers, mics, torque wrenches and various gauges and other tools. Must be computer literate. Perform source inspection and daily TPM. Uses stop the line authority at any sign of safety or quality concerns. Perform standard work and daily 5S activities. Possess basic math skills.
